Close Protection

Close Protection is a an area of exceptional expertise and, from one security company to another, the question you need to be asking is, is this company experienced and qualified enough to deal with the high standards I require?

The Private Sector works on a two-man team, compared to the four-man teams provided by the Government Protection Schemes. This is because the first thing to suffer as a measure of cost-cutting in any business is the manpower. However, for us to be of an exceptional standard we train our guards to carry out several tasks simultaneously but still be more effective and efficient, than the average close protection officer, in their work.

His or her duties are not just to protect their client but to also anticipate and recognise many other forms of threats. Today the C.P Officer must be able to recognise and locate any foreign devices positioned on a vehicle, or in the surrounding environment. The Officer must be versatile and adaptable to any given environment, yet still be alert to all potential threats, without endangering the client. In other words a two man team needs to be able to carry out the job of a Standard Team of 4 men used in a similar Government Protection Set-up. This means the training of this person has been adapted and is of an exceptional high standard.
The protection required for each client is very individual. Factors such as; location, area of work, or business dealings generally dictate the threat level and the counter measures needed to be taken in every case.

Well the most obvious threat to our clients is the threat of life to them. However there are other levels of threat, as in the immediate threat to their family or inner-circle friends. The threat could be at an industrial level where information or knowledge is of vital importance for a Company. This will mean kidnapping prevention procedures in the worst case or counter intelligent procedures such as counter surveillance i.e. listening device recognition, video observation and other not so well known systems used to gather information. These are just some of the additional areas covered in the training of a present day C.P Officer at F&M Security.

What our company is able to offer our potential clients is highly specialised training for our close protection officers, which is carried out internally and kept upto date through our C.P Manager of Operations. This Officer was a member of a British Special Forces Unit and accumalated his knowledge from worldwide experience.

Being prepared and thinking ahead to quietly eliminate threats before they develop is a critical part of successful personal protection. It is the mindset and the ability that sets C.P officers apart from other security companies.
